Akmyrat Tuyliyev is a Turkmen new media artist and producer working in the intersection of storytelling, technology and culture. 

Akmyrat's work spans across various platforms, including VR/AR, web-based experiences and large-scale projection mapping. Currently, he is an interactive producer at POV Spark, the interactive arm of the long-running PBS documentary series POV. At POV Spark, he produces interactive independent non-fiction projects and leads initiatives that aim to support interactive independent storytellers. 


Prior to POV Spark, Tuyliyev produced an AR app about 1968 for The History Channel, an interactive projection memorial for the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of 1911 in NYC and a clinically tested Virtual Reality mindfulness experience for teenagers.

He is a Master’s graduate from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
