Akmyrat Tuyliyev is a Turkmen new media artist and producer working at the intersection of storytelling, technology and culture. 

Akmyrat's work spans across various platforms, including VR/AR, web-based experiences and large-scale projection mapping. Recently, he served as the interactive producer at POV Spark, the interactive arm of the long-running PBS documentary series POV. At POV Spark, he produced interactive independent non-fiction projects and led initiatives supporting interactive independent storytellers. 

 

Prior to POV Spark, Tuyliyev produced an AR app about 1968 for The History Channel, an interactive projection memorial for the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of 1911 in NYC and a clinically tested Virtual Reality mindfulness experience for teenagers.

Akmyrat is a Master’s graduate from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He also holds a BFA in Film & TV Production from SCAD.
